Overview

The IceRiver AE1 Lite 300M is part of IceRiver’s growing line of ASIC miners built specifically for zero-knowledge proof work such as zkSNARK. The “Lite” designation reflects its focus on delivering balanced performance with lower power consumption compared with larger ASICs in the same family. This model typically operates in the ~450–550 W range of power draw depending on environment, airflow, and power supply efficiency.

This miner was released in late 2025, in response to increasing interest in networks that utilise zkSNARK proof-of-work. Its compact design and air-cooled chassis make the AE1 Lite easy to integrate into home mining spaces without specialised cooling infrastructure.

Manufacturer

IceRiver is a focused ASIC hardware manufacturer specialising in mining hardware for emerging proof-of-work algorithms like zkSNARK. Although smaller than industry giants such as Bitmain or MicroBT, IceRiver has positioned itself as a supplier of dedicated ASICs for niche mining segments where algorithm-specific performance and energy efficiency matter.

IceRiver products such as the AE1 Lite series combine practical industrial build quality with efficient ASIC design, helping retail miners access specialised algorithms without resorting to general-purpose hardware. Firmware and ecosystem support aim for straightforward integration with popular mining pools for zkSNARK-based coins like Aleo.

Efficiency

The IceRiver AE1 Lite 300M typically achieves energy efficiency on the order of ~1.5–1.8 J/MH (joules per megahash) under normal operating conditions. This translates to a power footprint in the ~450–550 W range when running at its rated 300 MH/s throughput.

Efficiency in the zkSNARK space is measured in joules per megahash, reflecting the energy cost to compute a unit of hashing work. The AE1 Lite’s efficiency makes it a sensible choice for miners in the UK and EU where electricity costs are relatively high, as it balances power consumption and hash output for sustained operation.

Algorithm

The IceRiver AE1 Lite mines the zkSNARK proof-of-work algorithm, a hashing workload used by privacy-focused and zero-knowledge proof blockchain networks such as Aleo (ALEO). zkSNARK (Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Argument of Knowledge) workloads involve complex proof generation that benefits significantly from ASIC acceleration rather than CPU or GPU mining.

ASIC miners like the AE1 Lite are engineered to execute zkSNARK computation far more efficiently and at higher throughput than general-purpose hardware. Supported mining pools for zkSNARK coins allow operators to assign the AE1 Lite to block-validation work on networks where this algorithm is used.

Lifespan

ASIC miners such as the IceRiver AE1 Lite typically have an operational lifespan of about 3–5 years when maintained with proper airflow, dust control, and consistent power quality. In a home mining environment, regular cleaning and ensuring stable ventilation help maximise uptime and prevent thermal stress.

The AE1 Lite, released in late 2025, sits within the early generation of ASICs targeting zkSNARK algorithms. Its efficiency and targeted design mean it should remain viable and relevant for home miners focused on Aleo and similar networks for a number of years, provided those networks maintain proof-of-work reward structures and active mining pools.

Frequently asked questions

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major debit and credit cards, bank transfer and selected digital payment methods where indicated at checkout. All payments must be received and cleared before goods are dispatched unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Can I pay a deposit instead of the full amount upfront?

For certain orders, we offer a deposit option:

  • 10% deposit for miners valued over £2,000
  • 20% deposit for miners valued under £2,000

The remaining balance must be paid before dispatch. Deposit arrangements are subject to approval and confirmed stock allocation.

Do your miners come with a warranty?

All miners are supplied with the original manufacturer’s warranty, provided the unit remains unmodified and is operated in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Warranty terms and claim processes are determined by the manufacturer.

Do you offer setup and configuration support?

Yes. We offer an optional Setup & Support package that includes remote installation guidance, power and safety advice, network and mining account setup, and full miner configuration. Ongoing remote support is also available.

Do you provide advice on power requirements?
